In anticipation of Canada’s Remembrance Day on November 11, LBPSB elementary, high schools and vocational centres have been paying tribute to veterans who have honourably served in Canada’s military and to those serving today.Throughout November, LBPSB students discover the history of Canada’s wars, its contribution to spreading peace globally, and the personal sacrifices brave soldiers have to make to ensure the well-being of the country and its citizens. Younger students find newfound appreciation for their freedoms, while high school students gain a deeper understanding of Canada’s role in political and military conflicts.
As Remembrance Day nears, LBPSB schools hold assemblies, processions and other events where students and staff can give thanks to our veterans and pay tribute to fallen soldiers. LBPSB expresses its gratitude through words, music, and art.
It is a privilege for all our students and staff to welcome veterans to our schools and to learn from their experiences.
Lest we forget.
